TOTAL COST = (total labor hours + travel time charge) * moving rate + packing materials (if any).

E.g.: A customer is moving from Boston to Brookline at the rate of $75/hr. The move started at 8:00AM and finished at 12:00PM. The travel time charge (explained in more detail here and also below, #7) was 30 minutes (that is 15 minutes to get to the pick fakerolex.com.br up location + 15 minutes to return to the office from the moving destination). In addition, 6 rolls of tape were used (we provide 2 free rolls, any excess tape used is charged to the customer).
LABOR = (Labor + Travel) * rate = (4 hrs + 1/2 hrs) * $75 = $337.50
MATERIALS = 4 rolls of tape * $3.00/roll =$12.00
TOTAL MOVING COST = $315.00 + $12 = $349.50

The total number of hours is rounded up to the next quarter hour.
E.g., if the total move time (labor + travel) was 2 hours and 10 minutes, the charge will be for 2 hours and 15 minutes.

Tips are appreciated but are not mandatory. Tipping should be reserved for movers who do their job right. If a mover goes out of their way to accommodate you, then please tip accordingly. Usually it is around 10-15% of the total cost depending on how hard the move was (stairs, heavy boxes, awkward items, etc.)

Make sure you are there for the packing of your belongings (if you have requested the full packing service), and at the loading time. This is the time to speak up if you notice anything you disagree with or that was not mentioned in your contract. Samson Lines does not take responsibility for any items of a high value (such as jewelry, documents, personal valuables, etc.). It is also the customer’s responsibility to make sure that nothing has been packed that is not supposed to be moved.

Travel time charge is an additional charge added on top of the labor charge. It is the time it takes for the movers to get to the pick up location extra resources from our office plus the time it takes for them to return to the office from the drop off location. It is flat and is not affected by traffic, etc. The exact time is disclosed to the customer before signing a contract. Call us for details.

Our highly professional staff will try to make your move as easy and quick as possible. However, there are still some steps a customer can take to reduce their moving costs:
a) pack your own things (please visit our MOVING TIPS page for pointers on how to quickly and efficiently pack your belongings)
b) reserve parking spaces, obtain permits
c) label the boxes accordingly (include the room name they belong to).

Weather can slow down a move. Our movers will still move you during the harsh weather conditions. If the conditions get too severe, however, we may ask you to reschedule.

Anything that is flammable should not and cannot be moved. You will be refused to move anything that may leak or spill.

We accept cash, company/personal checks, postal money orders, traveler’s checks, and all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard and American Express).

We have all the necessary tools to disassemble and reassemble your furniture in order to take it out/in your housing and prevent damage.

Lightweight clothing may be left in the drawers only if the dresser itself is not heavy (solid wood). Do not fill drawers with heavy items such as books, table linens or sheets. This can damage the piece of furniture during transit and will make the job unnecessarily harder and slower. Do NOT leave fragile items, money, jewelry, watches or other valuables in the drawers, as well as anything that might spill or leak.
